Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Trixie (“we”, “us”), the operator of trixiemoney.com, for use of the Trixie website, web application, and iPhone application (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

What the Service is

Trixie is a personal financial management tool: it aggregates financial account data you connect or enter, and presents analysis such as net worth, budgets, spending, investment performance, card rewards comparisons, and retirement projections. The Service is read-only with respect to your financial institutions — it cannot move money, execute trades, or make payments.

Not financial advice

The Service provides information and analysis, not advice. Nothing in the Service — including health checks, rewards comparisons, retirement simulations, payoff plans, and blog content — constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Projections are estimates built on assumptions and historical data; actual results will differ. Consult a qualified professional before making significant financial decisions.

Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Accounts are personal. Household features exist for sharing views of data — sharing your login itself is not permitted.
• You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service.

Your data and your license to us

You own your financial data. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service for you. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties — including Plaid for account connectivity, hosting and storage providers, property-data sources, and email delivery. By connecting an institution through Plaid, you also agree to Plaid's end-user privacy policy. Third-party data (balances, transactions, property estimates, card program details) may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate; we present it as received and cannot guarantee it.

Acceptable use

• Don't attempt to access other users' data or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service.
• Don't use the Service to violate any law, or upload content you don't have the right to store.
• Don't reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or white-label the Service without written permission.
• Don't overload the Service with automated traffic.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service reliable, but it is provided without uptime guarantees and may change, gain, or lose features over time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or threaten the security of the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANALYSIS, CATEGORIZATION, PROJECTIONS, OR THIRD-PARTY DATA ARE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY FINANCIAL LOSSES OR DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms. Upon termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in the product with an updated date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
